Shirdi Baba is one of the most revered Indian fakir/saints. His teachings included elements from both Hinduism and Islam. He opposed all forms of religious orthodoxy, and worked for Hindu-Muslim unity. It is ironic that such a man has been merged into the behemoth called Hinduism and transformed into Sairam! By the way, are there any Islamic Sai places of worship too?
