Soundarya was a Kannada actress, who was very prolific in the Telugu film industry. Her popular Kannada films include Dweepa (by Girish Kasaravalli), Aryabhata (a could-have-been-terrific whodunnit) and Sipayi. But her career defining performance came in the immensely popular Vishnuvardhan starrer Aapthamitra. This was her last film, which got released a few months after she was killed in a tragic plane crash.
